Let's Play Granblue Fantasy's main quest. I wanted to share this amazing fantasy world with all of you and clearly I'm not the only one who appreciates it. Granblue Fantasy is a Japanese role-playing video game. The game plays as a traditional Japanese role-playing video game with turn-based battles. The game also contains summons and a class system that alters the main character's move-set and growth. Characters gain levels and abilities by accruing experience; summons and weapons equipped also confer characters with bonuses on attack power and HP. The characters themselves are gained either via quests (the main story quests or special event quests) or by using in-game currency to receive random crystal fragments, which may contain special weapons that add specific characters to the party. Characters, summons, and weapons are ranked (from best to worst) as SSR, SR, R, or N; each is also of type wind, water, fire, earth, light, or darkness. Voice actors provide voices for all of the characters in battle, and for much of the main and event storylines.

There exists a world in which islands of all shapes and sizes float in a sea of clouds. This is a world forsaken by the gods.
A long time ago, beings known as the Astrals attempted to seize control of this world with their overwhelming power. However, the citizens of the skies, the Skydwellers, successfully resisted. The world once again entered a time of peace.
Presently, our hero is about to embark on a journey after receiving a letter from his missing father. Accompanying him is Vyrn, a rather peculiar family member who happens to be a winged lizard. Despite Vyrn's objections, our hero prepares to leave his home of Zinkenstill when the mysterious island is suddenly engulfed in flames.
The fleet of the burgeoning Erste Empire wreaks havoc from the skies above.
Amidst the chaos, a chance encounter with a mysterious girl named Lyria awakens the fallen dragon of the stars, who unleashes a roar of revival.

Each island has own peculiarities; various cultures and governments were shaped over time. According to the stories handed down from generation to generation, the creators of the world bestowed knowledge upon four races. The four races were unsatisfied and sought ever more knowledge, thus leading to conflict among them. The creators dispersed the earth into the skies, and then departed in disappointment.
During the War, the Astrals created the Grim Basin, a region of turbulence and storms that separates the skies. Traversing the Grim Basin is extremely dangerous, even now. Frenzied monsters also appear from the Grim Basin, and the skydwellers have been in a constant struggle against them.

Zinkenstill Island is but one of many numerous islands that dot the Phantagrande Skydom. These islands are home to four races who were once bitter rivals but then unified as one against the aggression of the Astrals. That cooperation between archipelagos continues to this day. At around the same time of the conflict with the Astrals, peculiar creatures came into existence. These creatures simplemindedly attacked people but a few types of creatures possessed the intelligence to organize into societies. Lastly, there are those that were imbued with immense power by the Astrals. They are known as the Primal Beasts.

The Erste Empire is a militaristic nation that wants to wrap the entire skydom in the banner of the Emperor. Barely ten years have passed since the nation was transformed into a grand empire thanks to its military might. The empire plans to use the remnants of the Astrals' legacy, the primal beasts and the primal crystals, in their march of conquest. Researching Lyria is also part of that plan.
The reigning emperor is shrouded in mystery. The actual governing powers were granted by the empire to the Seven Luminary Knights, seven peerless individuals of the land. One of those seven is the self-assured Black Knight, a figure who will test the wills of Lyria and our hero time and time again.

The Astrals took strong entities of the skies and altered them into beasts of a higher order. Bowing only to the Astrals, hidden within these beasts are the powerful elements of the world itself. During the War between the Astrals and the skydwellers, many islands were obliterated in the wake of these ultimate weapons.
After the war, a majority of primals now slumber in the form of primal crystals, with each crystal giving rise to its own cultures and customs. But recently, something is stirring the beasts from their dormancy, and the advent of divine calamity threatens the prosperity of the skies once more.
