I thought I'd do something a little different this time. A little more raw than usual. I'm being pretty wild here (footwork be damned), but there were a lot of modes to test so I was trying to win quickly above all else.
Viewers keep asking how my game "runs so well", so I thought I'd show what it runs like while playing normally. It can be difficult to tell how a game is actually running when watching Youtube, so I added a performance metrics to this one for anyone who is curious. I'll have a reference now for future patches as well.
The 5800X runs at high temps by design. It won't throttle until it hits 90 degrees so that has no effect on any performance here. I replaced the thermal paste on it about 2 months ago.
I think the developers are doing an excellent job. This is just a "for your information" type thing. Most games don't get the performance straightened out until very close to release. I would advise anyone playing in development games to temper their expectations regarding performance until the game is actually released, and even then be realistic about what type of hardware they can expect the game to support.
I played at least one 3 vs 3 at all listed settings because it's the most demanding. At a glance the game seems to be mostly CPU bound in the group fights (which I expected).
They've reworked blood and body damage into 3 presets but they can be modified further in the menu. I stuck with the presets for this one. I also stuck with high because it crashed on me a few times on Epic settings with the grotesque preset, but I will experiment with it again.
The damage to characters feels much better from my initial impression.
I hope you enjoy, and thanks for stopping by! :D
