This video is part of the Aspect Self-compassion Program for Autistic Adults (ASPAA).
In this video, Ru (pronoun: she/her) will guide you through the hand exercise. The practice of hand exercise is designed to ground you, bringing you back to the present moment when experiencing overwhelming emotions like anxiety or anger. We need to practise this skill when we are in a calm and regulated state, so that we are able to use this skill when emotions start to rise.
NOTE: If you feel pain in your hands due to injury or other physical reasons, please do not practise the hand exercise.
