Hoshigami - Running Blue Earth (2001, PS1/PSX Gameplay 2020)
3Hoshigami - Running Blue Earth is a Tactical-Rpg released in 2001 on the PS1/PSX. It was developed by MaxFive, and published by Atlus but never saw a European or Australian release, the only English release was for USA.
As you can tell by this video I am really not great at Tactical Rpg games, and rightfully so. I really don't like the slow pace of them, I like my Rpg games to move a lot faster BUT I hope of what I played of this game for the video and retrying again off recording I can give this game some type of small review without being biased against it because i'm not a fan of the genre.
SO! graphically the game seems to be quite good, i've seen better but I have seen a hell of a lot worse on the Playstation. Character portraits seem nice though there seems to be poses used too often and in parts of dialogue where you would not expect to see that type of expression used.
Magic spells are used from Coins that you flip in battle but must have equipped on characters first off to use, otherwise you can't use them. Lookign at other YouTube videos I have seen some spells look really nice and others not so nice so this one is a mixed bag for me.
The game's music is okay, it's nothing great but it's not bad, the short time I played no one song stuck out to me, it was just the pretty standard tactical type music. As for sound effect, again.. it's the usual tactical type sounds, movement sounds, weapon hitting and striking sounds, spell casting, other damage type sounds, etc, it was okay.
Would I recommend this game now? I can't really say, I didn't play much of it.. probably about 45 minutes and I really can't decide with that short time for the genre it is for me. It seems slow paced which is the usual thing for tactical games. IF these type of games are your thing then why not give it a try? if you are like me and don't like this genre of Rpgs.. then I say stay clear.
