Mateus in EX Mode for FF6 T-Edition was the most frustrating boss for me, however I was determined to figure out the trick to him, and I eventually did. I'll detail my setup but if there is only one thing you takeaway from this video, it's that to keep Mateus in check, you need the Rage "Cheshire", which has the "Raccoon" ability. Not only is it a wonderful healing spell, it's also a full party Full Esuna, curing every status aliment aside from straight up death. This ability will save you a lot of scrambling to keep your party members competent enough to inflict damage to this guy.
