Host Bryan sits down with Game Development instructor Patrick Kelly and the game’s producer Daniel to discuss audio and composing for their new video game, 'Fury Strike'. The team video chats with the game’s audio engineers, Serena and Nick.

Patrick talks about the difference between creating scores for films, which are generally linear, versus scores for video games, which allow the player to move and act freely. He explains that dynamic audio is when the sound in your game changes accordingly to the players actions in real time.

After Daniel’s brother created the score for the game, he sent the files to the audio engineer team, and Serena and Nick worked diligently to integrate it into the game. With game music, the biggest concern is that the listener will grow bored. But Nick and Serena used a variety of solutions to keep players interested in the game. The audio engineer team also worked to create songs that reflect each character, giving them their own theme song while they fight.

With such a heavy workload, the team also outsourced some of their work to expedite the process. Patrick emphasizes the importance of continuous communication while outsourcing work.
