How To: Create a Computer Animated Cartoon – Voice-over & Sound | Full Sail University
Chad James, co-host of Screwattack, joins the the team to lend his talents as the voice of Dogbot and discuss how he brings a character to life using voice-overs and sounds for animated cartoons. Chad emphasizes the importance of developing a unique voice for each character while keeping the director’s vision in mind. Although several actors contribute their voice-over talents to a show, recording vocals is often solo work, as they record individually in sound booths. Challenges arise when voice actors must recite their lines in response to a scratch track, or a sound recording used as a temporary placeholder during the recording and editing process. Learn more about voice-overs, recording foley, and how to add sound to animated cartoons.
