Press: "Left Trigger" "Right Trigger" "X" "Y" "Left Bumper" "Right Bumper" "Left With The Left Stick" "Up With The Left Stick" "Right With the Left Stick" "X"
A dialog box should pop up prompting you to reset your Xbox 360 to factory defaults. Select yes.

In this video I'll be showing you how to remove the Parental Controls or Family Timer on the Xbox 360. I'm not sure if it will affect your hard drive, so I would just remove it just to be safe. This may not work for after certain updates or on certain consoles for whatever reason. I'm sorry if it does not work for you, but this is what I found to work for my system.
