How to turn on Developer Mode on your Chromebook?

Chromebooks at Amazon https://amzn.to/3OqtLYV

In this tutorial, I'm show you how to enable Developer Mode on your Chromebook. With Developer Mode enabled on your Chromebook you can then install APK files and extensions that aren't available with the normal Chrome browser & ChromeOS operating system. Chromebook Dev Mode will also allow you to install Android APK files.

This is also sometimes called Chromebook Dev Mode or Dev Mode on a Chromebook.

BE CAREFUL: When you activate Developer Mode on your Chromebook, the Chromebook storage will be completely formatted and wiped clean. This is what Google call a Powerwash. So make sure to backup any important data that you have on your Chromebook, such as photos and videos, before activating Dev Mode on your Chromebook.

TO BE CLEAR: Turning on Developer Mode on your Chromebook only removes your Google account from that Chromebook. It does not delete your Google account from the Google cloud and it does not delete or remove your Google account from any other device that you may have your Google account on.

If you want to switch back from Developer Mode, here's a video tutorial showing your How to Turn Off Chromebook Developer Mode - Disable Dev Mode https://youtu.be/K62agbgzwKo

How to enable Developer Mode on your Chromebook:
1. Make sure your Chromebook is switched off.
2. Turn on your Chromebook and hold these three keys at the same time, ESC + Reload key + Power button on your keyboard. Hold these keys until you see a screen that says "Chrome OS is missing or damaged." Don't worry about this message, it's only indicating that you are currently in recovery mode.
3. From this screen, press CTRL + D on your keyboard at the same time. You will then see another message that says "To turn OS verification OFF, press Enter" No go ahead and press Enter on your keyboard.
4. You will then see another message saying "OS verification is OFF" Just press CTRL + D at the same time again. The screen will temporarily turn off and then your Chromebook will turn back on and reboot. Once your Chromebook turns back on reboots you will see a message with a count-down timer saying that your Chromebook is transitioning to Developer Mode.
5. Once the countdown has finished, your Chromebook will switch off and then back on again and you will see a message saying "OS verification is OFF" Once again, press the CTRL key and the D key at the same time. Your Chromebook will then carry on powering up and Chrome OS will be in Developer Mode.
6. After this point just carry on and log in to your Google account or create a new Google account, as you would do with a brand new Chromebook.
7. Just remember that every time you power on your Chrombook after this point while in Developer Mode, you will see the message "OS Verification is OFF" every time. So just press and hold the CTRL key and the D key at the same time when you see this message when you turn on your Chromebook when in Developer. Or you can wait for 30 seconds and the Chromebook will automatically carry on into Developer Mode.
