I found a small "glitch technique" that allows you to run off ledges that your character would otherwise hang off from, allowing you to do some small navigation time saves here and there. I think it's caused by a loophole in the gun sheathing animation.

You need either the gun or the bow to do it. First hold down 'run', then start to 'aim' with 'run' still held down. Then release 'aim' or both buttons right near the ledge while moving forward. The ease seems to depend on the ledge, though. There are places where this is 100% consistent, and other places where it's almost random.

Doing this with the gun may cause you to fire your shots accidentally since 'run' is also the button for 'shoot'. I found you get better results with the bow since you never have to waste ammo with it and the sheathing animation is longer, allowing you to get over ledges easier.

This video shows some skips and observations from the first half of the game.

---

0:00 - in Chapter 3, you can skip a short climb by running off from the high platform. Saves maybe 5-6 seconds.

0:15 - Chapter 5. Another unique effect of the trick is that if you hit a sidling wall while falling down, you get teleported back up on it. In this instance it allows you to cross the sidle at running speed, theoretically saving a small amount of time.

0:26 - after getting grappling hook, you can skip using the first prompt by running off the ledge. Saves 3 seconds?

0:42 - you can skip a small climb before the long slide down by running off the ledge. Saves 6-7 seconds?

1:03 - this isn't related to the new glitch tactic, but after the long slide down you can do a grappling hook jump to the left to latch onto a different climbing wall than the current WR does. I haven't timed it, but intuitively this seems like a time save.

1:15 - Chapter 8. You can skip a small climb before the last fight of the level with the tactic. I only had the opportunity to try this out once because a new checkpoint kicked in after landing, so I don't know how hard it is to perform. Didn't seem too hard, though. Saves 5-7 seconds?

1:27 - you can also use this tactic to run on poles for a short length as if they were ground. In Chapter 5 there's a shortcut on one of the paths if you run on a pole like this and then jump to the opposite ledge from a distance. This particular path isn't used in the speedrun, but maybe the same idea would work on other poles, resulting in a timesave elsewhere.

p.s. I was requested to break this game by Emeraldaly. I was looking for a new game to glitch anyway so I decided to try it out... I'm not sure if taking requests could become a regular habit for me. We'll see?
