I Created A 7.88x Custom Difficulty Multiplier With 0% Risk (See Description)
This is the rundown:
The Custom Difficulty is basically 24.00x but I turned Sprinting on, set the Sprint Duration and Sprint Recharge Time to 3 seconds each, set the Flashlights to on, and set the Player Speed to 125% and the Ghost Speed to 75%.
The reason this difficulty technically has "0% Risk" is because I crafted the multiplier to be as high as possible, while still having the Average Player Velocity (between Sprint Recharge and Sprint Duration) be faster than the fastest speed a Ghost in-game could possibly go. This would make it impossible for the Ghost to kill you if you're, at minimum, running away from it and holding down the Sprint key to Sprint as often as possible, considering that the Average Velocity you would have is too fast for even the fastest Ghost to ever reach you.
Now, at 125% Player Speed, the Player can move at 3.75m/s while Sprinting, and 2m/s while Walking (during Sprint Recharge). You would have to find the Average Velocity the Player would be going with both of these numbers multiplied by the given values of time increments for each, in this case being 3 seconds of Sprint Duration and 3 seconds of Sprint Recharge.
The equation would go:
(3.75 x 3) + (2 x 3) = 17.25
The 17.25 then could be divided by the sum of seconds for each of the increments of Sprint Duration and Sprint Recharge Time, which would be about 6 seconds. This division would result in a quotient of 2.875m/s Average Player Velocity.
Now that we have the optimal Average Player Velocity number that I've calculated to be higher than the Ghost but still give the highest possible multiplier, we can look at the Velocity of the fastest speed a Ghost could possibly go comparatively.
The Moroi, as some may or may not know, can reach the highest Velocity of any Ghost in the game, however this can only be achieved by it speeding up with Line of Sight and with the extra speed it gains from the Player being at the lowest Sanity possible.
As you could also tell, the Sanity, considering I haven't mentioned any changes to it besides it being at the 24.00x difficulty level, is 0%. This means that the Moroi can, in fact, reaching a maximum Velocity of 3.71m/s. You can then calculate the Velocity it would be going in this Custom Difficulty by multiplying that 3.71m/s by 0.75, to get 75% of the normal Velocity a Ghost would go, as according to the parameters of the settings chosen in this difficulty. By doing so, you result in 2.7825m/s maximum Moroi Velocity, which is just under the Average Player Velocity in this Custom Difficulty by 0.0925m/s.
Now, you can experiment with doing this math for both different Sprint Duration Times and Sprint Recharge Times, some will be faster than that 2.7825m/s requirement and some will be slower, but none of them will get you as high as a 7.88x multiplier, even when you do the calculations for 150% Player Speed vs 100% Ghost Speed, or 100% Player Speed vs 50% Ghost Speed.
Then there are the last two things I should mention, being the fact that I set the flashlights usage setting to on, and that I chose to go to Brownstone Highschool. You would think that instead I would want to go to Sunny Meadows Mental Institution where I could get $50 for getting the Ghost type correct instead of $30, however, because of smaller spaces and much less room to loop or run away from Ghosts, (including the doors that lock sections off during hunts) I would have a much higher chance of dying to the Ghost in such places as compared to the vast hallways and rooms that Brownstone Highschool has. As to the flashlight usage setting, I think it's a little obvious as to why I turned that on, it's so that I can see properly to make sure I don't die.
P.S. The Ghost was a Mare, I had no idea, I just guessed and got it right.
