Despite being developed by Studio Alex and Game Arts, Lunar: Walking School (Lunar さんぽする学園) is quite mediocre RPG.
The main problem of this game is that it's kind of empty story-wise. It feels like a filler up to last few chapters.
Writing is not good too and awful fan-translation doesn't help either. But music is excellent, for GameGear, that is. Limited hardware not an issue for Noriyuki Iwadare.
In this video I show one short chapter (the whole game is short actually, around 7-9 hours to beat), I think you will get a good grasp of what this game is all about. I myself can recommend this game only to devoted fans of the series.
Walking School also has a remake on Saturn and as far as I know they improved a lot of things.
