3For the April 18th 2014 Livestream we experimented with a new staging system I have been busy inventing... the Bananaskin Staging System.
The idea behind this staging system is that, rather than dropping engines from the bottom of your rocket when the attached tanks run out of fuel, instead you dump the empty fuel tanks off the side, much like peeling a banana, leaving you with a much higher Thrust-To-Weight Ratio for the later stages of your launch.
To test this theory, we sent Jebediah up to the Ellitopia Space Station to replace the escape pod we used in a previous mission.
No Kerbals were harmed in the making of this video... better luck next time.
