Fallback Boomstick let's you kill Kill fleshpounds in 3.6 seconds instead of Impact rounds Medic AR's 5 seconds. Is 1.4 seconds worth giving up a second AR? Probably not.

Fallback Boomstick also let's you kill Raged Fleshpounds safely. With commando's ability to see health bars you can safely go for boomstick finishes as well.

It's probably on Par with AK+Scar but not as good as Medic AR + AK.
