Last Scenario is a role playing game made in RPGMaker by SCF. A rather typical kind of rpg, but with enough twists and an interesting story to make the journey well worth taking.

The latest version of the game can always be found here:

With that long story over and done with, the duo should leave and try to find their friends, then go kick Ortas's face in. Doesn't help though when the latter comes in from a locked door first, decides to take Phantom away as a sacrificial pawn to kickstart the end of mankind...and thinks Hilbert & Zawu aren't escaping because they are already in prison.

Hate to break it to you Ortas, but the duo could easily backtrack through the prison and escape since they kicked the crap out of anything standing in their way. Not exactly the grand central station of intelligence right now from your brilliant predictions sir.

As to drive in the fact the duo can escape, Matilda, Thorve, and Randolph were in hiding past the locked door and come in to reunite with the others. Ethan on the other hand stayed behind to find Lorenza and save her. We'll have to catch up to him and provide assistance before the Awakening can be initiated.

There are a couple chests to grab in the area beyond the locked door, a Thor's Hammer (single target attack item that casts the third tier thunder magic Shockfield) & Soul Elixir. The path will eventually deposit the team in the elder's residence. Save, then make damn sure Zawu has Flynn's Black Beret and the Brass Icon stolen off the Key of Penance. Everyone else should get a Knight Shield.

As you head to the throne room, you'll find Castor. Evidently he's the designated guard to make sure the Awakening goes uninterrupted. There's also his desire to see how strong Hilbert's become since their last meeting. Cue the first fight with Castor who gets his own battle theme like Felgorn & Tiamat.

Castor is not to be taken lightly. His Lifetaker skill hits a single target for a ton of damage, easily enough to one hit kill Zawu without a P-Shield up, and can inflict instant death.

He also has Blinding Flash as his sole AoE move, hitting everyone for close to 250 damage while inflicting blind. He has quite the penchant for spamming this skill at times so be ready to cure it often on anyone planning to use physicals often.

There's also Venom Cut. Doesn't hit as hard as Lifetaker on a target, but inflicts poison & amnesia.

You'll notice none of the attacks have anything to do with the Knight Shields I had everyone equip. The reason for that lies with Castor's most dangerous move, Maelstrom. While the damage is very light, it nails the target with four ailments, namely berserk, chaos, petrify, and slow. As you can tell, there's no easy way to block every ailment from it with the gear currently available...except for Zawu's Black Beret + Brass Icon combo that is.

Hp wise, Castor clocks in at 9000 hp, drops a Sacred Orb upon going down, and has a spellcard you damn well want to steal, Dual Strike. This spellcard costs 40 mp to do two physicals against a target at 80% of normal damage. The crisis ability Quad Strike costs 55 mp for more multi hit physical goodness, namely four hits at 70% of normal damage. Basically, this spellcard was tailor made for Matilda's use.

As for Castor, Zawu setup the way she is allows her to respond to anyone struck by Maelstrom by tossing a Soft their way to get them back into the fight. She's immune to basically every ailment Castor can throw out besides poison. So long as she has a P-Shield on her, she can tank anything no problem while everyone chips down Castor.

After the battle, it all seems like a game to Castor as his comrades come in to mention the ceremony's about to begin soon. We'll have to haul tail to the site and quickly.

More next time!
