Last Scenario is a role playing game made in RPGMaker by SCF. A rather typical kind of rpg, but with enough twists and an interesting story to make the journey well worth taking.

The latest version of the game can always be found here:

Time to get cracking down on all the sidequests available...and there'll be quite a bit to do with plenty of challenges afoot as we go towards the main goal of getting all 100 Hex tiles.

To kick things off, I'm going to go grab two Hex tiles that are available now that the Lemuria is in our hands.

First up, the video begins at Entalar. With Tiamat's defeat, you can speak with Barasur for a short cutscene that ends with him handing over the Tiamat tile. Very high attack and good attack range means I can go ahead and trade in the Hilbert tile at the next trading post which will be very soon.

The next destination is to the southeast of Entalar. Around the center portion of the Kingdom continent is a village. Hope your ready for some chilling music because this ruined village is Cromwell. There's a few items around, but there's only two of any real worth, both in ornate chests. One contains the Wolfram tile which is a hugely defensive tile in contrast to the Tiamat tile being a glass cannon.

The other ornate chest is in the ruined house to the west of the Wolfram tile chest. Upon entering it though, you're met with a message that something's amiss. That's basically telling you there's a boss fight hiding in the chest. I'll deal with this one soon, possibly after the next video.

The final destination for this video is a desert island in the southwest. Surrounded by mountains in this desert area is Randipur, Saraswati's hometown. As evidenced by me showing off my team's stats before entering, there's a boss fight I'm going to beeline for and deal with before checking out the rest of town.

Our destination is the trading post on the second screen of town. Standing outside of the post is Saraswati, presuming you've followed her around the world as she slips further away from sanity that is. Here though, speaking to her reveals that she's completely fallen off the cliff with her body being overtaken by some kind of sorcerer.

This sorcerer seemed to accomplish much in his life...well, except for the ever eternal quest of finding immortality. That's where this jerk comes up with what might be both the most clever and dumbest plan for achieving immortality.

That plan? Devise a board game and store parts of his soul in all of its tiles. Yes, the game of Hex was invented by THIS guy as a way to achieve immortality. That's the craziest ass plan...and yet incredibly clever because nobody would expect someone to do something so absurd.

In any case, the crazy sorcerer decides to attack your party because power is everything and a stronger body is required. This is going to be a real surprise if you were just expecting a serious game of Hex.

Saraswati has only four attacks with the first being an interesting one, Hex Attack. This move is the only one in the game that hits a group of people at random. If it targets your 2nd or 3rd character, it'll hit them and the two people besides them. If it targets anyone else, it'll hit them and the person next to them.

The other three attacks are all proper AoEs with an element attached. There's Shiva Flames for fire, Durga Frost for ice, and Indra Thunder for lightning.

Saraswati has a pretty hefty hp pool of 75k to chew through. Couple that with said attacks being very damaging, especially Hex Attack, and you'll realize that shields are going to practically be a requirement for the majority of boss fights from here on out.

That being said, this fight isn't too hard. Hilbert's setup the way he is so he can outspeed Saraswati and thusly heal via Aquabeam or apply shields via Mega Shield. Just need to watch his mp very closely and toss a Serpent Eye his way if he needs it.

For damage, Matilda & Lorenza provide it with Brutal Attack & Holy respectively. Matilda can do fine damage with regular strikes if her mp needs to regen while Lorenza can pop a Brainstorm to refill her mp instantly if the regen isn't going to be enough for an offensive spell next turn.

Steal wise, there's the female exclusive Orange Saree armor with good defensive stats, +30 dex, and resistance to earth, wind, and water. No drops, but a metric ton of xp & gold.

After the fight, Saraswati claims she's going to retire from the professional circuit, merely playing the game as a simple pastime. She hands over the Hex Champ Medal, an accessory that boosts the drop rate of tiles from battle.

Inside the trading post, there's multiple people that you can play Hex with, Saraswati included, and there's a ton of new tiles to grab. Most of them are boss tiles, but two are character tiles, Saraswati & Lorenza. I'll talk about the gear I get for trading in some select tiles next time.
