Last Scenario is a role playing game made in RPGMaker by SCF. A rather typical kind of rpg, but with enough twists and an interesting story to make the journey well worth taking.

The latest version of the game can always be found here:

Next up on the side quest tour is the Tower of Redemption. This tower is located a very short trip to the northwest of Serinal Port.

Before going in, there's some stuff at the trading post I picked up with a few of my high end tiles. There's simple stuff like the 20 Purple Herbs for Saraswati's tile or 20 Soul Elixirs for Jord's tile, but the real stars of the show are Selene & Hilbert's tiles.

Selene's tile trades in for two highly coveted Warding Charms. With the one from Condor, I only need one more to ensure full status immunity for the party, a feat I'll be able to accomplish soon.

Hilbert's tile from the final dungeon though is a real treat. It's a new helmet called the Spring Hat. Has some decent defenses, but the real prize is a massive 500 point boost to the wearer's hp. This goes straight to Lorenza and is basically going to be her permanent helmet for the remainder of the game.

With that out of the way...the Tower of Redemption is nothing vastly different than the previous three towers. There's pillar puzzles, but rather than being something entirely new, it's just a refresher course on all the previous gimmicks like the movable pillars, colored pillars, and pillars that can be picked up and placed in an adjacent spot by Hilbert. The final puzzle before the save point is a very tricky one to suss out the right solution, hence the timeskip upon entering it.

As for the enemies, they take a very sharp increase in danger compared to the final dungeon. Go into every fight at full health. Anything less is just asking for trouble here. It's only going to get worse from here on out in some of the other sidequest dungeons too.

As for the initial loot, it's as follows...

Dragon Torch - Weapon for Thorve which deals fire damage

Lucky Break - Spellcard that costs 1 mp to set a single target's luck to max or, for an extra point of mp, can be used to invoke the crisis ability Fortune to apply the effect to the entire party.

Serpent Eye - Anything that restores giant chunks of mp will be most welcomed

After the save point, there's a split. To the west of the save point are two chests with stat boosting capsules inside (Resistance & Skill) while the east leads to a familiar setup...a locked door with another path leading to the boss key of this area.

The Key of Redemption...well, I need not tell you how it operates because it's exactly like the other three keys in terms of its attack pattern. Its ailment inducing waves are Entombing Wave (petrify) & Immobilizing Wave (slow).

That being said, P-Shields are extremely important. Even with one up, a physical strike can do over 1000 damage while Spinning Attack's three hits can do around 650-700 damage.

The Key of Redemption's one weakness though? A paltry 35k hp. Suffice it to say I stomp it into dust rather quickly (after I steal its Sacred Orb though).

After the battle, it drops nothing but the final key needed to unlock the Gate to Elysium's secrets...and the final tower treasure room.

Inside the treasure room are a pair of regular & ornate chests. The regular chests contain an Item Magnet (similar to the Hex Champ Medal, but raises the drop rate for normal items after battle) & the Vortex spellcard.

Vortex is Rage's elder brother, dealing FIFTEEN wind elemental hits at random enemies for 230 mp. Armageddon, its crisis ability, says it costs 1 mp, but in reality takes all of the caster's mp to deal extremely heavy non-elemental damage to all enemies. Lorenza can very well break 10k damage with this right now if she wanted to.

As for the ornate chests, one contains the Felgorn tile which trades in for ten Skill Capsules. The other? The Dragon Lance, Matilda's best weapon with a massive 90 point boost in attack power over the Silver Fork.

More next time!
