Last Scenario is a role playing game made in RPGMaker by SCF. A rather typical kind of rpg, but with enough twists and an interesting story to make the journey well worth taking.

The latest version of the game can always be found here:

While I could go after the third boss in the Gate to Elysium, there's a small dungeon I want to knock out first and, for the first time in forever, Lorenza is taking a backseat and Zawu's coming back to the frontlines with a Mental Booster equipped.

Besides the Mental Booster, I did a bit of Hex grinding so I could pick up her second best weapon from tile trading, the Deathbringer. It also has the benefit of being a dark elemental weapon which is going to be very nice for the upcoming dungeon. That dungeon in question is the Hall of Judgement located to the west of Condor.

The random enemies in the Hall of Judgement consist of only one enemy, the White Guardian. While they only show up one at a time in battle, there's two variants of the enemies and you won't know which one you're fighting until they attack. One has magical light attacks, one of which can inflict a few ailments on a target like sleep, enfeeble, and blind. The other is a more typical physical brute with a single & AoE light element attack.

The dungeon is short and very linear, but has a couple puzzle-esque rooms to contend with. The second room uses a bridge that disappears when you start moving, but you can stop whenever and, after a few seconds, the bridge will light up again. Annoying, but it's the only time this gimmick is utilized here.

On the plus side, there's a brand new spellcard in the second room called Cleanse. It's a pretty poor spell, costing 65 mp to heal the user's hp a moderate amount and remove all ailments on the caster. Half of the ailments in the game already neuter any hope for the caster to perform an action so it kinda sucks.

The catch though? The crisis ability is INSANELY useful. Called Sacrifice, it kills the user, but fully restores the hp & mp of everyone else. Putting this on someone fast like Hilbert or Zawu means you could set it up so either could pop a Sacrifice, then have the two next quickest characters use a Soul Essence + healing item or spell and get them back up on their feet. Matilda is going to find some serious use for this in the next video.

After getting past the bridge, the third room is a fork. Take the left path to reach a chest with a Party Hat. Anyone equipping this will get targeted by any and all single target attacks from the enemy.

Fourth room has the last puzzle of the dungeon. There's two big piles of spikes and a clean path up the middle. Taking it though will trigger a fight with a White Guardian, then you're booted to the room's entrance. Getting past this room requires you to walk in the spikes. Nothing real complex, just be sure to snag the Purse Cutter accessory (doubles gold obtained from battle) on the left side of the room before leaving to the north.

The room after is just a straight shot to the save point and a door leading to the final room where there's an altar. Approaching the altar makes a voice speak. If you say yes when asked if you want to be judged, then the boss of this area, Rashnu, attacks.

Rashnu's attack style is similar to the White Guardians. Whereas you had no idea of what White Guardian variant you were fighting until they attacked, Rashnu will tip his scales left or right on the first turn, then every few turns or so thereafter. What kind of attacks he spams depends on which direction the scales are tipping.

If the scales tip to the right, he'll use physical attacks. Sword of Judgement hits a single character for heavy damage. One strike took my full hp Ethan down into double digits since he didn't have a shield up. Most of that can be attributed to his low vit compared to the likes of Matilda or even Hilbert. His other physical attack is Grand Cross, a four hit combo where shields are a must.

If the scales tip to the left, Rashnu will be using magical attacks. Blinding Justice does a pretty decent chunk of damage to the entire team while inflicting blind while Supreme Vision is an extremely strong attack that can do around 2000+ damage to the whole team without shields active.

Rashnu comes in swinging with 55k hp and a weakness to dark.

Not much really needs to be said here. Just pay attention to the top of the screen so you have an idea what to expect for the next few turns. With that dark weakness, it's very possible to be doing 12-13k+ damage per turn, assuming no healing.

Rashun's rewards are very nice. Besides the usual massive chunk of exp & gold, Zawu's ultimate weapon, the Seraphim Blade, drops from the old man. The steal from the guy is very nice though. Called Grand Vizier's Robe, it absorbs light and makes the wearer immune to silence & amnesia.

Next time, it's back to the Gate to Elysium.
