Last Scenario is a role playing game made in RPGMaker by SCF. A rather typical kind of rpg, but with enough twists and an interesting story to make the journey well worth taking.

The latest version of the game can always be found here:

While I could probably deal with the final challenge in the Gate to Elysium right now, I'm going to knock out another optional dungeon...although in this case, the dungeon in question is one we've visited in the story before, the Third Entalar Seal.

In the story, we were forced to head to the seal room right away. Here though, we're entering directly through the front door only to find something murdered everyone in the area.

Part of the reason I held off on heading here is due to the enemies. They take a pretty massive step up in terms of damage dealt and can easily floor a party that feels like diving in here at lv60-65 if you're not firing off shields at every opportunity. Black Mantises are probably one of the worst enemies to run into due to high damage, being faster than Hilbert, and coming in pairs at a bare minimum.

As for the dungeon itself, it's pretty simple. Straight north from the entrance is a door leading back towards the other part of the area where the seal was, but the doors are locked tight due to the security snafu going on at present. We'll have to locate the security post and activate a switch to unlock the door. Thankfully, going west from the locked doors is the way to go to reach it.

However, it doesn't take long until you run into a room with a bunch of oddly colored save crystals. Examining one brings an evil mimic crystal out to fight your party. High hp and only a physical, but it hits very very hard, at least 1500+ damage to whomever gets smacked.

When you reach the security post, there's a real save point you can use to prepare for a bit of a challenge. Upon hitting the switch to unlock the door at the entrance, a four minute timer begins to tick down. You'll have to hoof it all the way back to the door and pass through it to ensure it stays open forever.

Luckily for me, I can nullify random encounters by slipping on the Invisibility Ring, meaning I only have to worry about blowing through 3-4 Killer Crystals on the way back/

After unlocking the door, there's a real save point behind it, but also something very important I go to grab. To the west of the entrance is a long hallway. If you go all the way north, there's a room with a chest guarded by some Killer Crystals. Slaying them allows you to claim the very nice Fury spell from the chest.

Fury costs 50 mp and heals the entire party, but inflicts berserk on them. Its crisis ability, Contract, costs 99 mp for a stronger party heal and can inflict chaos. With the massive amount of Warding Charms available, the ailments can be easily dealt with, leaving you with a very nice and cheap AoE heal.

After saving at the save point beyond the locked doors, there's two more enemies to mention.

First up, the Critic. Has high evasion and total elemental immunity like the other emoji variants, but is insanely fast and can do tons of damage with its attacks

Finally, we've got Scylla & Charbdis. One charges up its laser for basically no damage, but signifies it's going to break out its water nuke on the next turn. Scylla just hits really hard.

As for the grind I did offscreen, it's all due to a drop the Scyllas can fork over, the Hideous Mask. Good defenses, raises strength by 25, and nullifies dark.

Once you make it back into the old section of the base, it's just a matter of returning to the seal room. Inside, there's a bunch of furballs who decide for no reason to attack right away.

These furballs are called Strangelets and can spit out some earth or water based attacks, but are otherwise a joke. Too bad the battle lasts all of 30 seconds too for that matter when Lorenza & Matilda break out crisis abilities to nuke the entire squad of five Strangelets and their 20k hp pools in one turn.

Rewards for the battle include one interesting helmet, the Crystalline Crown. When equipped on someone, they get a permanent P-Shield effect. Could be nice to have for physical centric zones.

More next time!
