So yeah, I decided to dabble with "post-commentary" Let's Playing, and what better way to do that than recycle 2-month-old footage used in an earlier LP? Resourcefulness!
No, but seriously, I realized (perhaps a bit too late) that the built-in mic on my laptop is crap. My voice sounded worse than AM radio, the game audio was too loud, and my commentary was just meh. But it was my first Let's Play, so I figured it would be fine.
And then I actually sat down and listened to it again. Guys, I'm soooo sorry for expecting anyone to sit through that.
So anywho, I had to right some wrongs. And being the cheapskate I am, I decided to hook up a Nintendo 64 microphone to an older computer with a mic jack, and just went along from there. The whole thing ended up a little cleaner than I would have expected, though also a little quieter. The game music was softened considerably to make the commentary easier to hear, and I tried cancelling out breathing noise and such in Audacity. Essentially, I actually put effort into this recording.
Pity the actual commentary still kinda sucks, though. But I'm getting better, I think?
