Though the mad king may have implied that there’s an urgency to our mission, this part of the game has no time limit. You’re free to explore the city at your leisure, though truthfully there’s little to find aside from a vendor and a few guard NPCs. We do want to talk to the priestess that tried to persuade the king to not kill the rebel prince, no doubt so she can try to persuade us to go along with her plan. It can’t hurt to hear her out, plus we have to go see her to discover the way to reach the rebels in the first place.

If you thought that this place would be one without enemies to fight and traps to disarm, then I have to wonder what game you’ve been watching to conclude that any major location we visit will be completely safe. If those enemies will be a significant challenge for us is another matter, as the party is higher level and far better equipped than they should be for this point in the story. That’s no excuse to get complacent however, for all that stands between Terri and defeat is a failed saving throw from a high level spell or two.
