This DLC has a lot of problems.
Overall: 6.5-7/10
+ (Pros)
Nice to see just a general continuation with the storyline from Inquistion.
The whole idea of the Exalted Council is interesting, and you get to interact with various dragon age characters (Teagan)
Some of the collection games are really cool.
Exploration is highly rewarded.
Lots of new weapon/armor sets and sigils
The whole Elvuian world is well designed and seems interesting, in addition, it's pretty cool how you go through many different areas in the world of the Eluvians
- (Cons)
This DLC is HIGHLY LINEAR. Which doesn't make any sense, because Inquisition was open world, but now they just decided to scrap that idea out the window.
Most of the character interactions are bland and one sided and there are certainly very few interactions at all.
Serious lack of missions and side quests for the price tag.
Saarath boss fight was just absolutely stupid, I can see no way of someone winning this fight without having a build which centers on 100% resurrection chance.
Just randomly changing it so that some armors from the base game do not give you a chance to resurrect. What's the point?
The game builds up this false front where it seems like there was going to be political intrigue between Fereldan and Orlais which you could partake in, but none of that happens so you can just tell the two groups to screw off.
The whole Solas plot twist (If you can even call it that) just makes no sense. Solas wanting to destroy the world so he can rebuild his old world makes no sense and just does not fit in with his calm and collective character at all. This is what really infuriates me, it seems like Bioware doesn't want to develop a different plot so they just decide "Hey, let's just make Solas destroy the world.... kind of like Corypheus."
Solas has the power of A GOD, why does he just decide to chop off my hand? It makes no sense, if he was so powerful then why doesn't he just remove the mark, or stop it from spreading? He had done it before but I guess he just doesn't care anymore. It also makes no sense as to why the mark is spreading, because we saw elven ruins/magic in the base game, but it didn't spread there. But whatever.
Literally nobody acknowledges the Inquisitor's hand being cut off, it just kind of happens and nobody notices.
There are literally only 2 endings (Where the Inquistion gets disbanded or it serves as Victoria's honor guard) but there are 6 different dialogues for these two choices. It makes literally no sense, what's the point?
Bioware, you have a multimillion dollar budget for this game, why did you not voice act the epilogue?
*I rate mods/games as a teacher grades tests, 7 being an average mod/game, and for every good thing points are added and for every bad thing/stupid hassle points are taken away.
