Let's Play NFL Pro Era VR Gameplay & Initial Impressions Review - Meta Quest 2
NFL Pro Era VR is the first officially licensed NFL football game for VR. It's basically a Quarterback Sim where you can throw the ball, run, or handoff the ball. However, you'll be mostly throwing the ball. You select receivers via the gaze method. You do have full locomotion or arm-swing locomotion. You can turn aim assist on or off. You can play on rookie, pro, or all-pro difficulty. Multiplayer is available, but it's only to hang out or play catch. You can play a full season's schedule or just an exhibition game or just do some training camp skill tests.
This game has a ton of potential and the visuals are impressive for the Meta Quest 2. However, the core gameplay is lacking as 2MD Football is still the king here. The throwing mechanic is just not there. Also, highlighting the receiver you want to throw to via the gaze mechanic is just awkward. I did buy this game at the full retail price of $29.99 USD. While I don't regret my purchase, I also just can't recommend this game to others until several issues are fixed. This game does have lots of potential to be the best NFL football experience though. I hope it does reach its potential.
