Let's Try Blacksea Odyssey (Alpha Demo)
0Here's my Let's Try of Blacksea Odyssey, a 2D top-down roguelike shooter that's a cross between Monster Hunter and Geometry Wars. You play as the Old Man, a cybernetic seasoned bounty hunter, competing with three other hunters to win the galactic hunting competition called the Blacksea Odyssey, and gain the privilege to hunt the greatest and toughest known creature in the galaxy, the Titan of the Stars.
To gain standing in this tournament, you must hunt various kinds of giant space creatures to achieve bounties. To hunt them down, you have the ability to throw harpoons and rip off body parts using your grappling hook. To aid your hunting ability, you can gain runes and items from chests or fallen creatures, or by purchasing them from the shop, which contain random boosts and effects. In fact, in the final version, there will be over a million rune combinations. But be warned, permadeath is in this game.
Overall, I enjoyed this game and see a lot of potential. The developers are intending to release this title to PC and consoles around Spring 2016. So, I'll be keeping an eye out on this title.
