There are still no sound options. I cannot adjust sound levels. The stuttering is an issue with the game itself that I can't do anything about. I had the game installed on a SSD that was just a few months old and only had a few small games installed on it.
Running the game with the "fixed" framerate option does reduce the stutter somewhat but at the cost of becoming, still, the very opposite of smooth because it's 30 fps with stutters regardless. There's no way to win here, so I opt for 60fps scenes and battles at the cost of traveling being a disaster.

Moving past the technical issues, Lightning Returns is a very different game compared to XIII and XIII-2. It also presented a unique challenge when it came to producing this playthrough video.

You have a limited amount of time to complete the game and the only way to get stronger is through equipment and the completion of quests. If you run out of time, your power gains will carry over into a new time cycle. In this new cycle, you can repeat quests for additional but smaller power gains. You can do this infinitely. Unfortunately, the game is absolutely tuned around you repeating cycles over and over for power gains.

It's the idea behind the Requiem of the Goddess DLC for XIII-2 applied to a full game.

Given the unique nature of this game, it was necessary to transition into a much later time cycle. I do this after finding and using the codes for the phone.

I will be spacing out the main quests over the days as there are cutscenes that play when days end after you complete each main quest chain.

Notes
During Dead Dunes, I'm not sure if it's actually a bug or not but sometimes the statues warp you to the wrong area when used.

There is a very high chance that the game will crash in the forest area of the Wildlands. Any time I need to go there, I do additional editing.

The main quest content runs dry on day 6. So, I will be skipping ahead to scenes. There's no scene on day 8.

On new game plus, you are forced to fight the plus version of the final boss. The fight plays out a bit differently than the normal version does as it immediately shifts into phase 2 at the start and periodically swaps to phase 3 and back to 2 as the fight progresses. The normal version has 3.25 million total health while the plus version has 8 million total health.
