EN: Limbo is a puzzle-platform video game developed by independent studio Playdead. The game was released in July 2010 on Xbox Live Arcade, and has since been ported to several other systems, including the PlayStation 3 and Microsoft Windows. Limbo is a 2D side-scroller, incorporating a physics system that governs environmental objects and the player character. The player guides an unnamed boy through dangerous environments and traps as he searches for his sister. The developer built the game's puzzles expecting the player to fail before finding the correct solution. Playdead called the style of play "trial and death", and used gruesome imagery for the boy's deaths to steer the player from unworkable solutions.

FR: Limbo (en anglais : « limbes » ou « oubli ») est un jeu vidéo de plates-formes et de réflexion. C'est le premier titre développé par le studio danois Playdead. Il est sorti le 21 juillet 2010 sur Xbox Live Arcade, le 20 juillet 2011 sur PlayStation 3 à travers la plateforme de téléchargement PlayStation Store, le 2 août 2011 sur PC via Steam et le 21 décembre 2011 sur OS X via l'App Store. Le jeu a également été porté sur Linux en juillet 2014.
Le jeu est en 2D à défilement horizontal et tient compte de la physique qui gouverne les objets environnants ainsi que le personnage principal. Le joueur guide un jeune garçon muet et sans nom dans des environnements dangereux et doit éviter les nombreux pièges dans l'ombre.
Limbo utilise des graphismes uniquement en noir et blanc, il a recours à un effet de grain et des sons minimalistes et ambiants, qui créent une atmosphère esthétique et angoissante, souvent associée au genre de l'horreur.
