Patrick Johnston's most recent article on The Province goes over the Vancouver Canucks and their salary cap situation, upon the news that the NHL's cap won't be increasing for three years.
Of course, when you talk about the Canucks and their salary cap, your conversation won't go far without mentioning Loui Eriksson, whom the Canucks signed to a 6x6 contract back in 2016.
Johnston's article actually mentions it quite casually—although I think it's incredibly strange to talk about—but apparently, the Canucks almost had a Loui Eriksson trade with the Edmonton Oilers finalized, although it was nixed by Eriksson due to his NMC at the time.
