LUCHA MAN here to review The Super Mario Bros Encyclopedia The First 30 Years! This was first published back in 2015, and was only available in Japan... Then it got published in late 2018 October. I love the book and all the detail it goes into, and I like the visuals, but I feel that it could have covered a few events in 2017, it omitted Odyssey, even though it goes into 2016, despite it only being 30 years...
Mario is SO iconic and I think it's great how it shows the platform of the game, gives some intel on the items and baddies, and we learn a bit of info on the levels. I just wonder why it took them a while to get it to the sates.
While the book is great, it loses points for missing a few details in recent years. I get they needed time to make the book, but given chronological order of the items in the book, It could have been added near the end with some time... Not to mention the three year translation delay. I give it a 9 out of 10. Have a nice day!
