We pay for 500MBPS down, usually we get around 560MBPS down, and 35MBPS up. Amazing speeds for DSL. We started having problems with the internet slowing down a lot, and just out right going out for minutes then coming back. They came out, checked the lines going to the house and the guy who checked them, damaged the lines and then we had no internet at all until someone else came out the next day. The next guy came out, fixed the lines, tested the modem, etc. We had our full speed back. A few days later we started having problems again. Friday, October 25th 2018, ANOTHER guy from mediacom came out, and replaced our modem. I did a speedtest as soon as he left and we got %80MBPS down. Our fastest yet. I loved it. About an hour after he left, it started dropping down. Most of the time now we're getting 20-40MBPS down, however our upload has remained the same at 35MBPS up. This made no sense at all to me. Before it started getting this slow, my dad was always getting into chats with them, and bitching at them to fix their shit or take it off our property. After all the bitching is when the speeds got slow. I was curious tonight (October 27th) and connected to my VPN and did a speed test, and it was MUCH faster. I wanted to record this video as proof so I can show mediacom, and also share it around and get other peoples opinions.
