Messing with Budokai Tenkaichi 2's files
Right now I am messing with the game, trying to find out how it's works on a technical level. While doing some testing on the melee parameter file that every character has, I found that every attack has a certain value, which I think to be tied to the Knockback of the attack.
However, how this value works exactly is beyond me. The default value should be somewhere around 16675, setting it to 17000 and the difference isn't that big. Just a bit higher knockback than usual. Setting it over that amount, however, yields some hilarious results. Or cursed, depending on how you look at it.
Edit: I am an idiot. I treated these values as shorts (2 Byte full numbers), while these are obviously Floats (4 Byte decimals). The reason why changing it from 17000 to 17500 is so gigantic is because a 17000 as the "knockback value" would be a 58.25 float in reality, and a 17500 would be 883.599, so a gigantic difference in-game, as we can obviously see. Mystery Solved!
