Note: Yes, this is my first clear of the game on Steam, hence the achievements. Have played the game elsewhere

So, this game is pretty hard when comparing it to other similar titles. It's meant to be unforgiving and force you to learn from your mistakes. You die 20+ times on a boss? Well, it's usually your fault. Learn the patterns, etc.

The only difference in difficulty is your health bar that I've noticed. And, well, more common enemy spawn locations. You do the same amount of damage across difficulties. On Easy it's massive, Normal is more standard size, on Hard, well, you see what it is. On "Insane" it's a little less, almost a sliver. It doesn't matter though, outside of Easy, bosses will kill you in 2-3 hits, except Insane, which is 1 hit kills, pretty much, even with Health Upgrades.

So, why no damage runs on bosses? If you beat a boss without taking damage, they'll drop a special item that usually can't be obtained elsewhere. Or if it can, it costs too much munny.

Something to note, is the game doesn't just register boss damage. There are items you can get later, that take health away to strengthen your attacks. Do NOT use this during the fight, as they count as taking damage and will forfeit your item. Use them before fight triggers.

Anyway, onto the boss. You can fight this final boss in Karst Castle.

So, what are her attacks?
She will disappear under the ground and then pop-up under your feet to try and contact damage you. She does this in Phase 1 and 2.
She will shoot out a triangle projectile that homes to your location, and then explodes shortly after.
She will send out multiple triangle projectiles to you.
Phase 2, she will start off the fight by summoning way too many triangles that spiral out on either side of her. The safe spot is directly under her.
She will throw two projectiles out before vanishing under the floor, which leads into the first attack listed.
Phase 3, she there are two triangles to her side, when these flash, get under her, as they will explode and take up most of the screen
She will fire out a pink-laser that will track to your location then explode into two arcing projectiles.

Kind of self-explanatory that the boss to end the game is the final boss. And, like most final bosses, she comes in multiple phases. This is the "True End" version of the fight. If you're not on true end path, you will only fight the first two forms. True End requires you to bless your sacred leaf so it's strong enough to remove the curse from the Queen and restore her, otherwise, the Normal ending, Kaho dies and the curse lives on. Anyway, to explain that high burst of damage at the start of the fight. I have Necklace of Sacrifice, which increases Kaho's attack by 100% when on low health, on top of the Tainted Missive, which when used, drains health and boosts attack by 100% so at the start of any given fight from here on out temporarily, I can have 200% attack damage for a brief time before it drops to 100%

For doing no damage, she drops the Birthstone which is a key item and can only be seen in New Game+ - It servers no purpose other than to be like a trophy for doing it. Though, it does have some lore tied to it.
