Topology is the physical structure of computer network. It defines how devices such as hub, switch, router, PC are connected to the network and also it explain about how data flows in computer network.
Types of Network Topology are:
Single Node Topology, Ring Topology, Star Topology, Bus Topology, Mesh Topology, Tree Topology and Hybrid Topology.
What is Single Node Topology?
A single node network includes a single device which is connected to the server.
What is Bus Topology?
In a bus topology, devices shares a common backbone cable to send and receive data.
What is Ring Topology?
In a ring topology, each device is connected to adjacent device forming a circle.
What is Star Topology?
In star topology, multiple devices are connected to a central connection point knows as hub or switch.
What is Mesh Topology?
In mesh topology all the PC's are connected to each other to form a network. There are two types of Mesh Topology: Full Mesh and Partial Mesh.
What is Tree Topology?
Tree Topology is the combination of star and bus topology. It shares common backbone cable to connect multiple star topology. In this topology the data flow from PC to the centralized hub or switch it is connected and then the data travel to the backbone cable and towards the network.
What is Hybrid Topology?
Hybrid Topology is the combination of multiple topologies in computer network. All the topologies are are combines together to form a hybrid topology.
