Nitrogen dioxide \( \left(\mathrm{NO}_{2}\right) \) is paramagnetic at room temperature. When a sample of the gas is cooled below \( 0^{\circ} \mathrm{C} \), its molecular weight increases and it loses its paramgnetism. When it is reheated, the behaviour is reversed.
How does this phenomenon differ from resonance?
