In this release - Blink Multi pixel processing effects are now possible - in the Timeline. Nuke Studio and Hiero can now apply RGB based Blink scripts, such as Box Blur, Curtain, Ballomatic, or your own created Blink script - Soft Effects.
This allowed us to build new Timeline based workflows for Lens Distortion, and other tasks. To camera track and add CG elements to these plates for compositing. the first step is accurately removing Lens Distortion.
So by using the lens grid you diligently shot on set up day, a simple solve can be done to easily Undistort all the plates with matching Lens characteristics. Doing this on a timeline is efficient.
As the first CG renders arrive - a supervisor can apply redistortion to the render passes we actually get extra cows in frame (from the over-render), by doing this, and a quick slap comp shows the shots will work!
Similar to adding LUTs, Transforms, or the new Denoise, CornerPin or Inference in the timeline, all of these Soft Effects can ofcourse ‘travel’ from the timeline level, right into your artists comp scripts - as nodes, exactly as you previewed them, and still editable.
So, with multi pixel blink effects now supported on the timeline you can work with more advanced soft effects, allowing for better creative and QC tools, for Review, and for better shot setups for artists"
