Evolving Tyrogue can be a pain when you want a specific route depending of what its Attack and Defense stats are when leveling up at 20 or above.

Higher Defense than Attack yields Hitmonchan.

Higher Attack than Defense yields Hitmonlee.

If both are the same numbers, it will evolve into Hitmontop.

If you want to avoid the headache to get a Hitmontop, just catch one at the Lake of Outrage, wandering in the grass. However, if you're into competitive stuff, you'll have to take the hard route and use some stat items to monitor your ideal Tyrogue's evolution into Hitmontop.

Also, I caught a Bisharp because I'm not about to train a Pawniard all the way over level 50 to evolve it.
