PRELIMINARY AUDIO TEST 2 LAV TO XLR MOD VS BEHRINGER XM8500 ULTRAVOICE APUTURE A.LAV SENNHEISER ME66.

Part of my preliminary testing to replace the capsule inside a cheap XLR dynamic handheld microphone with the capsule from a cheap mass produced Chinese omni-directional electret condenser lav mic, also known as lapel, lavalier or clip on mic.

This test is for tone, sensitivity, output level, noise etc. I'm using a Behringer Ultravoice XM8500 dynamic XLR handheld cardioid, Aputure A.lav omni electret lav and a Sennheiser ME66 super cardioid condenser shotgun for comparison.

The idea is to find the best combination of cheap lav and dynamic XLR handheld to re-purpose and modify them together to make an ultra cheap omni electret condenser handheld XLR microphone, hopefully for less than £6
