This is gameplay, with commentary, of Act 1. So far Prodigal has been one of the better Zelda-Like games that I've played. Interesting characters, nice dungeon design, and a nicely paced story that has made it feel as though I was continually making progress.
The graphics remind me of a Gameboy Color title, and they look great. A lot of care has gone into making each of the characters look unique, with wonderfully pixellated character portraits. Act 1's area looks somewhat small when you first look at it, but after you begin to open up dungeons it feels as though it grows exponentially.
Combat is relatively simple against normal enemies, and boss battles are pattern based. Both are very enjoyable. The puzzles I've experienced so far have been pretty simple in figuring out, with only a few times finding myself stuck because I thought I couldn't use a new ability over a specific wall. I will say that Act 1 has a hilariously long, yet not too tedious, fetch quest that feels like a tongue in cheek take on fetch quests in general.
