REGIMENTS || Cold War game || Day and night battles || (with some semi-cinematic shots)
Wow, this game took me by suprise. They really polished it up since the last playtest. I don't know what it is but I keep coming back for that streamlined RTS experience. It is realistic, challenging, and it looks and sounds great.
WARNO looks and sounds a notch better but at least here you won't get verbally violated by sweaty no-lifers who have 8,600 hours in the Wargame series.
Also, and this might be the biggest selling point for me: the maps all have several different "time of day"-options with multiple weather conditions. This already makes the maps way more varied than all we got in WARNO.
To make it short: if you're intrigued by this kind of games but you dislike the sweaty clickfest that is WARNO, by all means buy Regiments!
A NOTE ON PERFORMANCE: I was surprised to see how low the frames per second get. The game never felt and still not feels like being unoptimized. The thing is, that the game feels smooth even on lower fps. It does not have huge drops like similar games. That being said, and looking at the numbers alone, there is definitively room for some improvements.
