It's been a while since I uploaded anything, hasn't it? Anyway, today's video is a speedrun of a sequel to one of my favorite doujin games: Rosenkreuzstilette Freudenstachel. For those that don't know what this game is, by first glance, you should know what the main premise of the gameplay is about. In short, yes, it's another Megaman clone. (What can I say? I love the Megaman games and its imitators. People that have followed me up until now should know this already, lol.) In this run, I play as the game's newest protagonist and former enemy of the first RKS game, Freudia Neuwahl, as she speeds through the game as fast as possible.

This run is the current fastest known run of the game which beats the last known fastest run (32:50.76) by ~3.5 seconds. This run does have some obvious mistakes, but overall, it is still a solid run. However, those mistakes show that this game has the possibility of going as low as sub-32:40 and maybe sub-32:30 if the run was near perfect. To put this into perspective, at one point, reaching sub-33 minutes was very questionable, and now, it is only known that two people have ever went that low, with me being one of them, and now I'm the only one that has cut sub-32:50 as of this point in time. So this run has come a long way since late last year in terms of heavy optimization.

As far as any "tricks" used in this run, there aren't many to speak of. However, there is one trick that is used constantly thoughout the run: the superslide glitch (or "the jetslide"; both terms are used interchangably). Technically, what this glitch is, in layman's terms, is that if you land the, Rush Jet analog, the "Strudel's Frügel," in a way in that your feet land directly on a ledge of a platform, you'll gain added momenteum on your slides making them super fast. This effect lasts until you jump, turn backwards opposite to where you're sliding, or come to a full stop in any fashion (including getting hit by an enemy). To add, this also adds increased foward speed when you jump, but it ends after you land said jump.

As I said earlier, this run, while it's pretty solid, it still contains clear mistakes due to execution errors (see Sichte's and Grolla's stages), failed superslide attempts (see Schirach's stage, Pamela's stage, and Iris Stage 1), and failed boss kills due to either an unlucky boss pattern or my own carelessness (...DAMN YOU, DOLIS!!!!). To give added emphasis on how important missing a quick-kill can be, missing a Dolis quick-kill (which is one of the most important quick-kills, if not, THE quick-kill in the game if you can execute it) can mean a time gain that can add up to three seconds or more if her AI gives a bad attack pattern or if you mess up the quick-kill opportunity in some fashion if she gives you the best attack pattern. Safe to say that both happened in this run, sadly. This is why Dolis is one of the most hated bosses in the game.

Anyway, I guess this covers all that I need to explain in this run, any other aspects of the game should be shown as the video progresses. This is not the end of me running this game, though. I'm still going to try and get this time lower, but until then, the should do fine. If there are any other questions, I'll try to answer them as best as possible. Or you can go here for a commentary overview of this run: http://www.twitch.tv/lvcreed/c/2794643

Take note that if you do go to the above link, that the information will be flying at you VERY fast as I try to keep pace with the run while explaining sections relevant to the run. So if you think you can follow along, then knock yourself out. Also, this does explain what I have been doing while I haven't been on YouTube, lol. Thus, with this all out of the way, enjoy the video.

NOTE: This run is now outdated as I have faster times by this point.
