Science Fiction Ambience: Lava Planet
31You sigh and look out through the docking bay force field. It is not the force field that makes space ripple and bend in front of you. It is pure heat. The lava planet below is ancient. It circles so close to it's sun that it never got the chance to cool down.
The cargo ship that brought you here is now being turned into a massive mining outpost. When you have gathered as many rescources from the planet as you have room for, it will be turned back into a ship and take you home. Before then, there will be hard work, and plenty of it.
But for now, everything is still being set up. You can stay here for a while, and look out upon this burning giant, simulatneously your livelihood and your jailor for years to come, and listen to it rumble.
