Recently I jumped back onto Soulcalibur VI in search of a decent online match and was able to run into LP for some summertime Setsuka action. This video also gives me an opportunity to write an essay, which you can check out in the description below if interested.

Steam had a huge sale for Soulcalibur VI which bumped up the active player numbers on PC. People must be enjoying the single player content for this game or playing as 2B, because when I played online, I ran into the same laggy connections until I was matched with LP, which is disappointing coming from playing Guilty Gear -STRIVE-. I still love playing Soulcalibur VI so I will continue to come back to it from time to time.

Now that E3 has come and gone without a crumb of news for SC6, I saw the return of the sad social media posts about how the game is dead and whatnot. Developer support for the game has clearly dried up, but SC6 is still one of my favorite fighting games to play despite its flaws, and is far from being dead. Once SC6 stops having multiple weekly online tournaments around the world and players getting ready to compete offline once again, then you can call the game dead. Even when the game gets to that point, there will still be players playing online or doing something else to keep their soul burning until the next game in this series is announced.

Instead of worrying about the state of the game or whether the game is going to die, I’m just focused on what I can control which is my individual level of enjoyment by doing things such as creating content or giving some other fighting games a try. This is why you have seen me play Virtua Fighter and Guilty Gear on this channel. Other people can worry about the state of the game, but the only people that can control it are the developers.

Creating videos have been the one thing that I enjoyed the most, and have kept me going for the past 2+ years through a lot of ups and downs. Since there's not much interest in watching me mash in VF or Strive, I'm dropping off one more Setsuka video.
