Why am I teaching pixel art rather than 3 dimensional art? They're actually pretty similar, but I think 3 dimensional art is easier to learn to some degree once you got most of the basics of 2 dimensional down. It's basically the next form of handling that kind of creation, so there's even several shortcut methods of doing it.

I just want to get some of the smaller stuff out of the way.
