As it turns out, there were, indeed, some games made back in the days of Windows 1.0x! We're talking a version of Windows that's over 30 years old at this point! There seems to be a small handful in total, including one not shown here that might get its own video. Before I go on, I apologize for the lack of sound - these games don't have sound anyways - and the dual mouse cursors, since Camtasia decided it was a good idea to record both the actual cursor and the emulated cursor.

Starbase: It's a Missile Command clone, nothing too special. However, this one's supposedly a beta, and it crashed PCEm each time I lost, so I don't know if that's an emulation thing or a problem with the game itself, being a beta. There's a later version for Windows 2.x that's in a lot better shape than this.

Puzzle: A simple slide puzzle. Again, nothing special.

3D Tic-Tac-Toe: I remember seeing games like this all the time in the late 90s, poking through random shareware compilations and such. It always stuck out as an interesting concept to me for some reason, probably because it was so unique to see this kind of game as a kid. As for this version, it plays well, the AI taunts you sometimes, and, well, it's an effective time-waster for Mr. Late 80s Office Dude.

Taipei: If you know about or have owned the Best of Windows Entertainment Pack, you've probably heard of this one. Bet you didn't know that it actually first came out in 1987. It's pretty much the same as the later BoWEP/Windows 3.x version as far as I can tell.

ChessNet: The latest game on offer here, made in 1989, and the most interesting, since you can apparently play over a network connection - hence the name, I guess. There's even a chat option in the menu that's greyed out, obviously only available for a network game. Unfortunately, the EGA resolution (640x350) doesn't render this game well, and I guess this was more intended for Windows 2.x and VGA resolution anyways. Also, you're reduced to either playing chess with yourself or two people would have to huddle around the screen, constantly rotating the board.

Outside of these five, there's a crossword puzzle game that's interesting - but you have to make your own puzzles, some logic game I couldn't figure out, a version of Minesweeper, and a REALLY interesting game titled "Balance of Power" where you play as either the US or the Soviet Union (remember, this was the 80s) trying to prevent a nuclear war whilst dealing with uprisings around the world that may or may not be backed by the Soviets, and it also has this: http://i.imgur.com/E5Nt8l7.png

That last one was the aforementioned game that probably will get its own video. There's probably more out there, and who knows, maybe somebody out there will make a brand spanking new game for an OS that's 31 years old at this point. And hey, maybe some of you, if you're interested, can make some puzzles for that crossword game I mentioned earlier (if you download the file named "w1w2app.zip" from the website I linked at the very top of the description, the crossword will be named "XWORD.EXE") so I can show that game off as well.

Maybe soon, I'll make a video showing off games that came out in the Windows 2.x era, even though I don't particularly care about 2.x as much considering 2.x isn't as interesting as 1.0x and 3.x in my mind.
