Setsuka has been revealed for Soul Calibur 6 via the Season Pass 2. This fighter first appeared in Soul Calibur 3 and returned in the fourth one. Unfortunately for Setsuka fans, she was essentially replaced by one of Patroklos' forms in Soul Calibur 5.
It's been about ten years since Setsuka has been playable in a Soul Calibur title. As indicated by the monologue in the trailer, Setsuka has a grudge against Heishiro Mitsurugi. Shugen Kokonoe, Setsuka's master, told her how Mitsurugi was responsible for inflicting injuries upon him that prevented him from wielding a sword ever again.
Although Setuksa's master continued to train her, he did not want for her to take revenge. Despite this, her motivation until Soul Calibur 5 is a quest for vengeance (the events of Soul Calibur 6's story takes place before Soul Calibur 5).
Setsuka holds Mitsurugi personally responsible for Kokonoe's death. Upon meeting up with Setsuka, Mitsurugi notes that he is familiar with her guard and stance.
At the beginning, Setsuka is seen carrying an umbrella. However, it is revealed during her intro that the bottom hides a deadly blade — the Ugetsu Kageuchi.
The Ugetsu Kageuchi is a hidden "Iaito Iai sword" that's found inside the handle of the oil paper parasol. During the trailer, Setsuka is shown opening up her parasol for surprise attacks.
Setsuka is scheduled to be released on August 4, 2020. Character Creation Set E will also be launching alongside Setsuka. This set will include Tekken parts that can allow players to recreate Heihachi's appearance in Soul Calibur 6.
The Season 2 Pass for Soul Calibur 6 can be obtained for $33.99. Along with Setsuka, players will also gain access to Haohmaru from Samurai Shodown and Hilde. There's one more yet to be revealed character that will also be releasing as part of the Season 2 pass at some point.
Patch version 2.20 is also scheduled to apply numerous balance adjustments to the existing roster.
