Why play as just Kirk, Spock and McCoy when you could play as the ENTIRE cast? ;)

Today on Ancient DOS Games, Gemini's taking a look at Star Trek: Judgement Rites, the sequel to inventory-based adventure game Star Trek: 25th Anniversary, running on the same engine with the same gameplay, developed and published by Interplay in 1993.

There's definite improvements to Judgement Rites on some fronts, but also some definite signs of being rushed out the door. It's hard to deny though that a LOT more effort was put into the story side of things and that all of the original series cast members get a solid amount of time to shine this time around!

Additional Information and Corrections:

* If you want to pick up the game on GOG simply follow this link: https://www.gog.com/game/star_trek_judgment_rites/?pp=91dfde1d6e005e422f64a59776234f1f4c80b5e4

* It's TECHNICALLY "Judgment Rites" not "Judgement Rites" but given that both spellings of the word are valid this is an incredibly easy thing to miss and it's too ingrained in the video and everything to fix by this point. :P

* I actually only played up to the end of the sixth mission this time around for the review due to time constraints, although I have beaten the game a couple times in the past so I know what the last two missions entail. I believe the crash bug is in the seventh mission and involves entering a specific state through dialogue selections and inventory items, then talking to a specific character.

* Yes, I'm aware of the misspelling on my star chart. I was 19 when I got this game and swearing isn't my forte so cut me some slack! As for why it's v3.0 I'm pretty sure it's because I screwed it up the first couple times, but they were all named the same otherwise. ;)

* I would've liked to put some of Uhura's dialogue into the review as well, but she doesn't really get her due until the final mission and I didn't have enough time to get that far in the game this time around. Until then, most of her dialogue is either over a comm channel, along with a few minor lines on the bridge; all of her best lines are at the end. :B
