11Why did the Pittsburgh Penguins sign Jack Johnson to such a ridiculous contract? Well. Jim Rutherford has a history in letting emotions come into play with certain signings. He's a great guy; he brought two Stanley Cups to Pittsburgh. I am thankful for all that he's accomplished. And from a player's perspective, he is surely adored for having a heart of gold. But high-risk signings such as Jack Johnson simply do not make sense. In this video, I give some analysis on how and why Jack Johnson became a Penguin. Interpret as you desire.
