I really want to like this game. It has a lot going for it. It looks great. The music slaps. There are some really clever ideas for the levels. But it is so needlessly punishing. The first level is such a tease and stress free. It lulls you into a sense of ease and relaxation. And then the rhino's and the giraffe's and the monkey's and the ostrich's happen and it makes you wonder why if games were designed to be fun. This level can destroy anyone's happiness and general liking of The Lion King franchise. It doesn't stop there either. Each new level makes you hate life more and more. I turned the game down to easy so I could actually have a few lives and continues to make progress and I have no guilt. I beat this game legitimately. The young Simba levels are truly awful, but they are so damn cute. Once you become an adult the levels kind of ease up and things aren't so bad. The final showdown with Scar is great once you figure out what to do. It's easily the best level in the game. It mixes everything in. Awkward platforming and some fighting action with you evil uncle and his hyena pack. Really good stuff. Too bad the whole game couldn't have been so well laid out. I am so conflicted on this game. And even after beating it I am still seeking it's approval. I did good, right? Enjoy my blind playthrough.
