According to a recent report from Deadline, "The Marvels" is currently projected to make around $70 million in its opening weekend.
Now, that's nothing to scoff at, but it falls short of a few expectations.
Believe it or not, it's trailing behind "E-ternals," which, let's face it, wasn't exactly a fan favorite, opening at $71.2 million.
And it gets even more interesting.
"The Marvels" also finds itself trailing behind two of DC's not-so-great performers.
Dwayne Johnson's "Black Adam" managed to pull in $67 million, and even Ezra Miller's multiverse adventure in "The Flash" raked in $55 million.
So, the big question is, could this be a sign of trouble for "The Marvels"? Is it possible that it might become the MCU's first proper box office disappointment?
