Sporting trail cars are hand-built vehicles that are as powerful as sports cars, yet they can climb up and down hillsides like mountain goats.

The cars are rear-wheel drive with a four-stroke engine up to 1650CC which drivers can freely modify. They have chunky off-road tyres at the rear and pram like one's upfront.

This quirky sport aims to get the car to the top of each hill by driving between the gates – marked by coloured poles, without touching them, stalling or going backwards. The car must maintain a forward motion.
