The REAL Dark Souls Remastered! | Dark Souls: Daughters of Ash
1,469Want a COMPLETELY re-done Dark Souls experience? Well, Daughters of Ash is a mod you're going to want to look into getting. I love the heck out of this mod and will likely be doing some more content on it over time.
If you want to install it along with Durante's DSfix, follow this installation guide below:
It is recommended you start with a fresh installation, or re-install of Dark Souls before you do this.
1. Download the DSfix from here https://www.nexusmods.com/darksouls/mods/19 (If you're not aware, this fixes the FPS limit, gives options to increase the game's resolution, and other things that can be modified in the mod's .ini file)
2. Unpack the files in the Dark Souls DATA folder. If you're not sure where that is, it's located wherever your installation of Dark Souls is. (For Steam, just right click on Dark Souls in your library, go to Local Files and click Browse Local Files to find the folder you're looking for. It'll be the folder that contains the Dark Souls.exe file)
MAKE SURE YOU DO THIS FIRST! You can turn off the FPS limit in the DSfix.ini.
3. Download this Unpacker mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/darksouls/mods/1304 and put the files in the same folder you put the DSfix. Run the UnpackDarkSoulsforModding exe and LET IT FINISH FULLY. This could take a few minutes. What this does is allow Daughters of Ash's modifications to fully work, since it changes so much of the game's behavior.
4. Download the Daughters of Ash 1.2.0 Installer, -and- the 1.3.1 patch from here: https://www.nexusmods.com/darksouls/mods/1524?tab=description
Run the installer exe from anywhere, but make sure you install the actual mod to the same DATA folder we've been using.
After installing 1.2.0, unpack the 1.3.1 patch files into the Data folder and Replace any matching files with the new ones (windows should automatically ask if you wish to do this)
